Dehydroepiandrostenedione Sulphate (DHEAS)
Dehydroepiandrostenedione Sulphate (DHEAS)
Dehydroepiandrostenedione Sulphate (DHEAS) test measures the level of DHEAS in the blood. DHEAS is a male sex hormone present in both males and females, produced by adrenal glands that is responsible for the production of both male sex hormone (testosterone) and female sex hormone (estrogen). It also plays a significant role in the development of male sexual characteristics at the time of puberty. This test helps to diagnose adrenal gland tumours and find the cause of early puberty
